About Anther
I'm Jess — the person behind every piece that leaves this studio.
I came to dried flowers through two things I care about deeply: sustainability and aesthetics.
The fresh flower industry has a waste problem that's hard to ignore, and the alternative of faux or plastic flowers isn't really an alternative at all. They might fool the eye, but they’re still petrochemicals going into landfills at the end of their life. Dried and preserved botanicals felt like the honest answer. Beautiful, lasting, and rooted in something real.
The aesthetic side mattered just as much. So much of what I saw in the dried flower world felt samey — pampas grass, neon dye, arrangements that leaned twee rather than considered. I wanted to work differently. With organic shapes, natural palettes, and layers of texture that feel like they belong in a space rather than sitting on top of it.
My background includes design college, then a marketing career I genuinely loved. Which means I think about your brand and your customer before I think about flowers. When I started an online shop selling dried bouquets and wreaths, I quickly found the repetition wasn't for me. But the bespoke commissions from local businesses? That's where everything clicked. I closed the shop, rebranded as Anther Studio in February 2025, and haven't looked back.
I'm someone who chooses independents wherever possible, gets inspired by good food, new places and well-designed interiors, and does her best thinking outdoors. Walking, gardens, and the occasional beach day with the hubby and paw kids. That curiosity feeds directly into the work.
If you're a small business owner who cares about the details of your space, we'll probably get on well.
