Coffee Shop Interior Decoration with Dried Floral Installations
Your space is where people choose to spend their morning. Make it one they remember.
The best coffee shops aren't just places to get a good flat white. They're spaces people return to because of how they feel; the warmth, the texture, the sense that someone has put thought into every corner.
A dried floral installation from Anther brings that quality to your interior. A considered, lasting piece that softens your space, adds natural depth, and gives your customers something to notice and talk about.
No maintenance. No weekly replacements. Just effortless, enduring atmosphere.
What a Floral Installation Does for Your Coffee Shop
Independent cafés and artisan bakeries live and die by atmosphere. It's the reason someone chooses you over the chain on the corner, and why they come back.
A dried botanical installation creates a focal point that works harder than almost any other interior detail:
It photographs beautifully. Every customer who shares your space on Instagram is doing your marketing for you
It signals craft and intention. A living piece, the kind of detail that tells people you care about their experience
It evolves gently over time. The natural tones of dried grasses and preserved botanicals soften and settle, growing into your space rather than fighting it
It needs almost nothing from you. No watering, no replacing, no upkeep beyond an occasional dust or refresh now and again
Whether it's a statement arrangement behind your counter, a window display that draws people in from the street, or a wall piece that anchors your seating area, each installation is designed around your specific space, palette, and brand.
Güs Wellness, Sheffield
Güs is a considered wellness and café space in Sheffield, a considered, design-led environment built around slowness and connection. They wanted their interior to reflect that intention in every detail, including the floral display.
The installation sits in the window behind the coffee bar; a large, wild arrangement of pampas, ornamental grasses, teasels and bunny tails in natural wheat and warm taupe tones. It fills the window, softens the counter, and creates a backdrop that feels completely at home alongside the pink terrazzo, deep green tiles and warm plaster walls.
“Nothing but positive words to say about the whole process and the finished article.
Just the most amazing display.”
Güs described their vision for the space simply: they didn't just want to build a sauna — they wanted to create a true wellness space, and that only happens when you collaborate with makers who care as much about the placement of a floral install as the experience itself.
Installation Styles for Cafés, Coffee Shops, and Bakery Interiors
Every space is different. Here are the installation types that work particularly well in hospitality interiors:
-
A large sculptural arrangement, like the one at Güs, brings natural texture to areas customers see the most. Positioned behind the counter or in a window, it becomes the centrepiece of the space without interrupting workflow. In artisan bakeries, where the counter is already a place of craft and care, a dried botanical arrangement adds another layer of warmth that feels completely at home alongside loaves, pastries, and the smell of something just out of the oven.
-
A considered window display creates intrigue from the street and draws people in before they've even decided to stop. Dried florals work particularly well in north-facing or lower-light windows where fresh flowers would struggle.
-
A layered dried flower wall piece adds warmth and depth to flat surfaces; behind a seating area, along a feature wall, or as a backdrop for the counter. These become the natural spot for customer photos.
-
For coffee shops with higher ceilings or open industrial spaces, a hanging flower cloud creates a dramatic focal point that transforms the whole feel of the room.
Why Dried Floral Installations Work Harder Than Fresh Flowers
Fresh flowers need replacing weekly. They wilt, they drop, they cost money continuously, and they can look tired by Thursday.
A dried botanical installation from Anther is designed to last for years. The natural grasses, preserved flowers and dried botanicals retain their form and tone, evolving gently rather than degrading. The result is a piece that always looks considered, never looks neglected, and never asks anything of you.
For a busy coffee shop, that matters. You're not managing a maintenance schedule; you're just enjoying the atmosphere it creates every single day.
How it Works
Every installation begins with a conversation about your space - the dimensions, the light, the palette, and the feeling you want to create. From there:
-
Moodboard, palette, and direction agreed with you
-
Hand-built in the Anther studio from dried and preserved botanicals
-
Delivered and installed around your opening hours, with minimal disruption
A note on choosing your palette…
“Before anything else, think about the energy you want your space to hold.
If you want warmth and joy, something that feels welcoming and a little playful, soft pastels and blush tones are a beautiful way to keep things natural while lifting the mood. Think dried strawflowers, pale pink pampas, soft whites.
If your space leans more towards grounded and earthy (think artisan, tactile, and honest), then warm wheat tones, wild grasses and sculptural seed heads will feel completely at home. Especially if your products and ethos are rooted in craft and nature.
Neither is better. It's about what your space is already saying, and what you want the botanicals to add to that conversation.”
